You will enjoy 5 days of touring County Clare with Derek, which includes visits to all the major attractions plus some lesser known but wonderful hidden gems along the way.

Stay 6 nights at the wonderful Clareville House 4 Star B & B in the Heritage Village of Tuamgraney and enjoy a 5 Day Tour of Clare which takes you on the highways & byways of our beautiful County, incorporating many of our major attractions and several off the beaten track hidden gems.

(All tours are available for non-guests of Clareville House B & B).

No Daily Packing/Unpacking – Stay in a Heritage village – Walking distance to pubs, restaurants, local attractions – Transport to/from evening dinner and/or music sessions. Airport Transfers can also be arranged. That means that Derek would be your Private Driver/Tour Guide for the duration of your stay!

Sample Itinerary

Day 1: Your Arrival – To Be Confirmed. We will include a Short Local Tour if time permits.

Day 2: We start off with a drive to Loop Head Peninsula & Lighthouse and continue with an exciting walk on the Kilkee Cliffs, which is a spectacular stretch of the rugged Clare coastline.

Marvel at the roaring waves of the Atlantic Ocean and enjoy a unique sense of peace in this remote part of the world.
We continue along the Clare coast on the Wild Atlantic Way to Lahinch Beach, St Brigid’s Holy Well and the Iconic Cliffs of Moher. We visit the Burren Centre in Kilfenora Village to learn some of the history of the Burren region.

Day 3 :- We take to the high seas for a guided trip to Inis Oirr, the smallest of the Aran Islands, and take a cruise under the Cliffs of Moher on the return journey. We’ll continue with a drive on the Wild Atlantic Way and call to the Hazel Mountain Chocolate Factory and Kilmacduagh Abbey on our way home.

Day 4 :- We start today with a visit to the Clare Museum followed by a Walking Tour of Ennis Town in the company of Jane O’Brien and follow up with an afternoon visit to Bunratty Castle & Folk Park. Plenty of Shopping therapy available today also.!

Day 5 :- Today we head for the Heart of the Burren Region for a Guided Walk, which will enable you to connect with the landscape, view limestone paving, visit archaeological and sacred sites and enjoy the breath-taking scenery of this unique karst landscape.
We’ll explore the flora, fauna, geology, history, archaeology, mythology and farming practices of the Burren. This walk will be both interesting and enjoyable and you will have every opportunity for personal interaction with your guide.
We follow up with a visit to the Burren Perfumery, Poulnabrone Dolmen and at Leamaneh Castle you’ll hear the story of the infamous and notorious Maire Rua (Red Mary)!

Day 6 :- Today we’re taking a step back in time with a visit to Craggaunowen-The Living Past Experience. This archaeological open-air museum interprets Ireland’s pre-historic and early Christian eras. Ancient homesteads and artefacts from over 1.000 years ago are recreated on this 50 acre site, which includes a 16thC Medieval Towerhouse.
We continue to the nearby 14thC Quin Abbey with amazing views of the surrounding countryside from the top of the Tower.
We finish off the day with an “Off the Beaten Track” Tour of several sites in East Clare. We’ll visit a Holy Well, Mass Rock, Famine Burial Ground, St Cronan’s 10thC Church and Williamstown Famine Quay, from where many of the people from this area started their journey to the USA during famine times.

Day 7 :- Your Departure – To Be Confirmed. We will include a Short Local Tour if time permits.
