Dingle Peninsula & Slea Head Day Tour

National Geographic once described Dingle Peninsula as the “The Most Beautiful Place On Earth” and it doesn’t disappoint. Don’t forget your camera!

There’s something quite magical about Dingle – It’s a town of many charms and is cosmopolitan and welcoming with a good attitude to life.

Drive over the famous Conor Pass, one of the highest mountain passes in Ireland with dramatic views of glaciated landscape, corrie lakes and sweeping valleys.

The Slea Head circular driving route, which is part of the Wild Atlantic Way, starts and ends here. It’s one of Ireland’s most scenic routes and takes in a large number of attractions and stunning views on the western end of the Dingle Peninsula.
The journey takes you through historic sites, Irish speaking villages, famous Hollywood film locations with close up views of the world renowned Blasket Islands and distant views of the Skellig Islands on the south.

Some attractions along the way:

Beehive HutsSlea Head itself – Coumeenoole Beach where some of Ryan’s Daughter was filmed in 1970 – Dunquin Pier, the mainland harbour for the Blasket Islands – Film Locations for the Star Wars “The Force Awakens” & “The Last Jedi” 2015 and “Far And Away” 1992 – Ballyferriter Village and a stronghold of traditional Irish language, music and culture, which still thrives here – Gallarus Oratory, where it’s said if you “Climb thru the Small Window” you’re guaranteed to get to Heaven!
